Riot’s upcoming fighting game set in the League of Legends universe now has a name. Previously known as Project L, 2XKO is now opening its doors to Braum the Heart of the Freljord, a beefy tank.
Riot Games, the developers of League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and Valorant, has been drumming up hype for the upcoming fighting game 2XKO. This game, initially dubbed Project L, is set in the League of Legends universe and features the same champions. So far, the developer has confirmed Ahri, Yasuo, Ekko, Darius, and Illaoi as playable characters. But, now a new bulky support has been revealed.
On July 9, Riot Games lifted the curtain on Braum, who’ll join Illaoi in the Tank lineup. With his masculine mustache and massive muscles, Braum may look scary, but he’s a sweetheart with cute Poros.
Riot hasn’t yet revealed Braum’s moveset, but similar to LoL, he’ll likely be a support character. That’s what we have gleaned from his trailer as well, that Riot posted on 2XKO’s YouTube channel.
Braum’s character is based around a massive wooden door, which doubles as a shield and a workout accessory. Using this shield, Braum can dodge incoming attacks. His shield becomes tenfold powerful when he gains a buff called Unbreakable, which coats Braum’s shield in ice and makes his special moves deal more damage.Â
At first glance, Braum looks like a pure support character, but he can play offense as well, thanks to his seemingly harmless Poros. He can summon a small herd of Poros, small but deadly companions who deal heavy damage using their aerial attacks.
All in all, Braum is a powerful tank, and he’ll be playable at EVO 2024. For those who can’t attend EVO, will be able to try him out in 2XKO’s Alpha Lab at-home playtest, which begins on August 2024.
