Boston Uprising to hold open tryouts

Overwatch League team Boston Uprising is holding tryouts for aspiring players looking to join a professional team, the organization announced through Twitter.

With the inaugural season of the Overwatch League coming to a close, the London Spitfire came out on top at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Now, teams are getting ready for next year’s second season, and that means bringing in fresh blood.

It is expected that teams will announce roster changes during the offseason, Boston Uprising is getting ahead of the game, announcing open tryouts for aspiring players. In order to take part in the tryouts, players must fill out an application. One of the requirements the players must meet is an SR of at least 4300 during seasons 9, 10, or 11.

The number of players that will be joining the organization through these tryouts remains unclear, as do any possible transactions the Uprising and the league’s other teams. On average, a team in the Overwatch League has a roster of 11 players, though some teams do operate below that number.

Mohid “Mr. Bleeple” Asjid, an analyst for Boston Uprising, made himself available through Twitter for any aspiring players desiring more information on the Uprising’s tryout process.

Boston Uprising finished as runner-up during stage three of Overwatch League’s inaugural season, eventually being knocked out by Philadelphia Fusion in the playoffs.
