Blast is expanding into the Valorant arena by joining forces with Riot to bring one of the biggest Valorant events of 2020.

The Danish tournament organizer is officially dipping its toes in Valorant esports by partnering up with Riot Games to bring about one of the most anticipated Valorant events of 2020. This event will be Blast’s debut in the Valorant competitive scene with a prize pool of a whopping €50,000, with the winning team taking away €25,000.

Valorant has garnered much attention in a short period of time. Since its official release in June, the game has continuously enjoyed the limelight. It was predicted by many that Riot’s new tactical shooter would be the next big thing in esports, and Blast’s entry into the Valorant realm confirms it.

The Blast Twitch Invitational is tight on the invites with only four teams competing for the title of the best team in the region. The quartet invited for the event comprises some of the most dominant names in the early Valorant esports scene. FunPlus Phoenix, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Liquid, and G2 Esports will be competing in a best-of-three format, followed by a best-of-five final.

The matches are sure to be action-packed as all four teams have competed against each other in the Allied Esports Odyssey with G2 Esports coming out as the winners. This showdown will be broadcast live on Blast’s official Twitch handle from September 11 to September 13.

Nicolas Estrup, director of product and experience at BLAST, said in a press release that the event would feature some of the world’s elite teams and players in the new game.

“This tournament will be the final Ignition Series for European teams and will give viewers the platform to watch some of the world’s best VALORANT talent go head-to-head,” Estrup said.

The talent desk for Blast Valorant Twitch Invitational includes some big names. Casters Banks and Mitch will be joining Freya on the desk, alongside Tombizz as the resident analyst.

“We look forward to showing the community what BLAST can bring to the table with our industry-leading production and popular fan-first approach,” Estrup said.

Blast has organized many CSGO tournaments in the past and remains at the front of the line for the game. This year the organizer has already held multiple events.

Blast’s debut tournament in partnership with Riot will be the final instalment in Valorant ignition series. This tournament is likely to have a significant impact on Valorant esports and may further prompt other tournament organizers to work their way into the tactical shooter.
