In the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players have the ability to fuse weapons and materials to improve their weapons. The best material for weapon fusion in Tears of the Kingdom will depend on your ultimate goal.
The fuse ability is one of the innovations added to Tears of the Kingdom. It allows players to customize their weapons based on their preferred battle style. But it can get pretty complex and confusion, so where do you begin?
This ability is not unlocked automatically, players receive it through the In-Isa Shrine. There will be different challenges for players to complete, including fusing a boulder and a sword together.
Once players go through all of the challenges, the ability will be added to the selection wheel.
In the ability selection wheel, the fuse ability will show as a blue sword on the bottom. Press L to activate the ability. All the materials that can be fused will be highlighted.
Once you select the item, you will have the option to fuse it with your active weapon or active shield. Select one of the two options, and that is all.
It is important to keep in mind that some materials work best with certain weapons. For example, Zoanite weapons work best with Zoanite materials. Boulders paired up better with stronger sticks.
In Tears of the Kingdom, if it can be collected, chances are it can be fused onto a weapon or shield. Materials can be sourced from enemies, like wings, horns, or eyes. You can find materials just laying around, like rocks, mushrooms, and gems.
When choosing a material, first, you must think of what purpose the weapon will serve. Elemental fruits are more suitable for arrows that are used for quick attacks just to apply the effect. Other materials, like gems, mesh better with melee weapons, these are used for longer battles where endurance is more important.
