Battle Pass bug lets users to purchase multiple weekend sale bundles
Battle Pass bug lets users to purchase multiple weekend sale bundles
The latest Battle Level and Treasure Bundle weekend sale has come with a new bug that was exploited by some Battle Pass owners.
Valve restricted the Battle Level and Treasure bundle to only one purchase per customer. However, some community members discovered different ways through which they could purchase more than one bundle.
A step-by-step guide was initially popularized on Reddit. Numerous accounts claimed that the guide was effective and they bought two or three Battle Level and Treasure Bundles.
Several videos and blogs were circulated on different platforms promoting the same bug. With all these claims coming through, people were convinced that this was not a ruse. Battle Pass owners began trying it for themselves.
It was claimed that each player can buy three bundles using three different methods. First, purchasing the bundle directly through the Dota 2 client. Second, buying it on the Dota 2 store’s website. And finally, purchasing the DLC version of the bundle on the Steam Market.
It would seem that this loophole was also used by some Battle Pass owners last year.
The guide to purchasing more than one bundle includes adding the item on the Dota 2 store’s cart and waiting for 35 minutes or more. After 35 minutes, players can purchase the bundle in the Dota 2 client and finish their checkout on the Dota 2 store consecutively. The DLC version can be purchased any time on the Steam Market.
Some people claimed to purchase more than three bundles just by repeating these steps.
After a couple of days, Valve acknowledged this loophole and announced that it will be disabled. The item was also deleted on the Steam Market to avoid Battle Pass owners purchasing the third bundle.
“Enough people exploited this loophole that we have decided that, for the next 24 hours only, we will give a chance for players who did not exploit it to also buy up to two bundles total within the client directly,” Valve said.
Battle Pass owners can purchase the Battle Level and Treasure Bundle until July 1.
