Team Liquid has announced an official automobile partnership with Honda.

More and more, the world’s biggest companies are getting involved in the esports industry. One of the most prolific partner industries for professional esports organizations has been the automobile industry.

In 2018, Mercedez-Benz announced that the automobile giant would be expanding its partnership with ESL One through 2020.

This year, Honda will be the global mobility partner for Team Liquid. Honda will also create a six-part documentary series featuring Team Liquid’s League of Legends, Fortnite, and Dota 2 players.

A teaser was posted entitled “Level Up” showing fans how 1UP Studios highlights the experiences of these teams. Each team will be featured for two episodes following their hard work in pursuing championship titles.

Team Liquid’s journey with the Japanese car manufacturer will start in North America’s LCS. To mark the partnership, the reigning LCS champions will be cruising Santa Monica in the official vehicle of Team Liquid, the Honda Odyssey.

Honda will also provide players a fleet of Honda Civics customized for Team Liquid that they can make use of during their training.

“We’ll be working closely with Honda on content, activations and more that cater directly to our Team Liquid fan audience, and feel honored to work with a prestigious international brand who believe as fiercely as we do in the esports ecosystem,” said Team Liquid owner Steve Arhancet.

This is not the first esports venture for the car company, as they previously partnered with Red Bull and Twitch in 2016 to host a Hearthstone tournament. Honda also sponsored the Honda Esports Championship held in Thailand last year.
