Assassin’s Creed: Shadows Not Arriving Till 2025
Assassin’s Creed: Shadows Not Arriving Till 2025
For weeks, gamers have been buzzing about the upcoming instalment of Assassin’s Creed. Dubbed ‘Assassins’ Creed; Shadows’, this latest game would see a dual protagonist option, dynamic weather changes, scouts, and much more.
Thanks to a leaked Dev Diary, it seemed that this latest game was going to possibly be very polarizing. Sadly, it seems we will have to wait to find out.
When is Assassin’s Creed: Shadows Being Released?
According to Ubisoft, the next Assassin’s Creed game will be released on February 14th, 2025.
Previously, the game was to be released on November 15th, 2024, but the publisher has announced that it needs more time. Specifically, the company wants to work on the stealth and parkour features within the game.
“We realize we need more time to polish and refine the experience, pushing further some of our key features,” a statement from the company said.
In the meantime, all preorders for the game will be refunded, with future ones to be given a free expansion pack. While this might be disappointing, fans will be happy to hear that the new game will be available on Steam from the first day of release.
All fans will have access to the game upon release and, interestingly, this delay was reportedly done after a review of the Star Wars Outlaws release. The way Ubisoft has put it, they’d rather disappoint fans with a delay than put out a product that did not live up to expectations.
In the official statement, they assured players that this is for the good of the fans, though this puts added pressure on the game. Assassins Creed: Shadows is the first title to be set in feudal Japan, as well as featuring Yasuke and Naoe as protagonists. The former is based on the legendary black Samurai while the latter is on a mission to avenge her father Fujibayashi Nagato.
The game will be released just days before Avowed, an RPG game from Obsidian which also got pushed back.
