Asmongold: Fedmyster haters "over the line" after Twitch return

Federico “Fedmyster” Gaytan has been all over social media after his return to Twitch. But World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold hasn’t been liking what he’s been reading, including what he calls “misleading” posts about the former OfflineTV member.

Fedmyster was absent from social media and streaming for over a year after he was accused of sexual misconduct by Yvonne “Yvonnie” Ng and Lily “LilyPichu” Ki. He came back once to share a long Google Doc full of information regarding his former relationship with Imane “Pokimane” Anys, which resulted in even more people in the streaming community harboring dislike towards him.

Fedmsyster made his official return to Twitch in June, making a few missteps along the way. This included making fun of LilyPichu and flippantly saying he would open up a new house full of all the men she had accused of hurting or abusing her. He also seemed to have just found realized that sending out naked photos of an ex-girlfriend is wrong, which shocked other streamers on a shared broadcast.

Pokimane spoke out about the return, saying that she would no longer be associating with Fedmyster due to how he was handling the sexual misconduct claims. But not every streamer has decided to disassociate with Fedmyster. Asmongold decided to stand up for the controversial content creator yesterday.

“I’m going to have to defend Fedmyster because it’s the right thing to do,” Asmongold said.

Asmongold explains why he is standing up for Fedmyster

Asmongold acknowledged that Fedmyster should have already known that what he did was bad. But according to Asmongold, at least Fedmyster was acknowledging it now and is accepting responsibility. Asmongold told his viewers that Fedmyster was simply “trying to give examples of bad things that he did” in order to explain what people shouldn’t be doing.

“I’m seeing him get clipped in a way that is not showing that context,” Asmongold explained.

Instead, Asmongold said people are “shitting on him” and saying that he should have known not to do certain things. Asmongold said that people don’t have to watch Fedmyster anymore if they don’t like him or his content. He was sick of people making “misleading titles” and “misleading posts” about Fedmyster.

Not many people online agreed with Asmongold. It seems that most people within the streaming community are not fans of Fedmyster even after watching his entire stream for themselves instead of just a few potentially misleading clips.

A lot of people have started discussing Fedmyster’s lackluster apology, wishing he had just turned to the camera and apologized instead of rambling on about his side of the situation with Yvonnie. One person even noted that Fedmyster “accidentally” leaving his mic on at the end of the video so people could hear him go “man, I bombed that” proved that Fedmyster just wanted to continue playing the victim and getting sympathy instead of taking full responsibility for his actions.

For a lot of outspoken people in the Twitch community, Fedmyster doesn’t seem to truly feel bad about what he did and is instead just upset he was caught.
