Amouranth warns fans about fake accounts and cat fish scams

Twitch streamer Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa is sick of people making fake accounts of her.

Amouranth recently opened up about the amount of people impersonating her on social media, claiming it has actually been a threat to her safety. In an interview with Dexerto, Amouranth opened up about the dangers of stalkers and how often she has been a victim of harassment. This included when a man flew from Estonia to watch her for months.

While the man was later arrested, it’s still a common enough occurrence where Amouranth has been left worried about her safety. And the fake accounts have only made it worse.

Amouranth explains the dangers of stalkers

When talking to Dexerto, Amouranth said that she feels some stalkers may not realize they are crossing the line due to having inadequate social experiences “in person.” Since they don’t feel noticed and aren’t given attention in real life, Amouranth speculated, they lash out online or behave inappropriately. Other viewers may have mental disorders that make them believe they have a relationship with her.

Amouranth revealed that some people who impersonate her have promised these gullible fans that they’d meet up with them in real life. These cat fish will then get money and sensitive information from the victims by making promises as Amouranth.

She said: “A lot of times, which is also scary, they might not have any disorder,” she said. “They might be a perfectly sane person but somebody has been catfishing as you on social media trying to get money out of these guys, roleplaying a relationship like they are actually interested. Then you think they are a stalker, and they actually think you have been talking to them on a different account and engaging in an online relationship with them.”

Amouranth shared during the interview that a fan had once sent $1,600 to a fake account that was cat fishing as Amouranth. This is sadly one of many stories, since many of her viewers have warned her of fake accounts all across social media while she’s livestreaming.

“I guess monthly, we probably report like 50 fake accounts we are alerted to every month, over different platforms, and I’m sure there’s even more we don’t even see,” Amouranth said.

Is Amouranth in a relationship?

Amouranth infamously left her allegedly abusive and controlling marriage late last year. According to the popular streamer, her ex husband was the reason she was “forced” to do hot tub streams and other scandalous content. He would often threaten her and her dogs and had control of her finances and social media, making her feel trapped.

Now, Amouranth has been free to create whatever type of content she wants. While she still has some obligations to her adult content staff, she has a lot of big plans ahead.

During this time, Amouranth has done some livestreams while out on dates. But as far as the public can tell, Amouranth is still single. She most likely wants to take it slow after dealing with the aftermath of her previous relationship.

So if you are talking to Amouranth online and it seems like she is interested in you, that account is most likely a catfish. And she will not be meeting up with you no matter how much you pay the fake account.

If you do want to see the actual Amouranth, she will be at The Novo in Los Angeles in March. The show on March 4 will also have other content creators. Fans are excited to see Amouranth do a collaboration with Iron Mouse, a popular V-Tuber.
