Despite causing continuous controversy on the streaming platform, Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa has become the top female streamer on Twitch.
In 2021, viewers spent over 38.4 million hours watching Amouranth’s streams. This is more than Imane “Pokimane” Anys and every other female streamer on the platform. And it wasn’t a close race, as Amouranth actually beat Pokimane by 18 million hours viewed. This is largely thanks to her boundary-pushing streams, which include streaming in revealing bikinis, performing in sexually charged ASMR sessions, and dancing on stream.
Even though this was a successful year for Amouranth in terms of viewership, the OnlyFans model also received some backlash from Twitch.
Amouranth became one of the first streamers to popularize the “hot tub meta,” which was essentially her using a blow-up hot tub in her room to bypass Twitch’s bathing suit policy. These streams earned her suspensions and she later lost advertising on her Twitch channel permanently. Accidental nudity then led to two additional bans in 2021.
Despite her immense viewership on Twitch, Amouranth isn’t too worried about such incidents on the streaming platform. Amouranth revealed her income earlier in the year, and it showed that Twitch wasn’t even close to being her top-earning social media site. Amouranth has been making a lot of money on OnlyFans and recently became a founding content creator on PlayBoy’s CENTERFOLD site. She has also purchased a gas station and convenience store, further diversifying her potential income.
StreamCharts has revealed the viewership of the most popular streamers on Twitch in 2021. The top 10 female streamers are led by Amouranth, who was watched for over 38.4 million hours in 2021. Here is the top 10:
When compared to male streamers as well, Amouranth is currently for 33rd on Twitch. The most-viewed streamer of 2021 is Felix “xQc” Lengyel, who was watched for over 261 million hours in 2021 alone.
