Amouranth becomes fastest growing Twitch channel after NSFW slip
Amouranth becomes fastest growing Twitch channel after NSFW slip
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. That’s at least true for Twitch streamer Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa.
The controversial streamer became the fastest growing channel on Twitch after she received a three-day ban for accidentally
exposing herself
on a live stream.
Upon her return, Amouranth experienced a 50% increase in followers, gaining 410,568 followers in just seven days. This puts the streamer at 1,489,177 followers, and that’s a follower count that makes her the second-most followed female streamer on Twitch. She’s just behind Imane “Pokimane” Anys at this time.
While Amouranth easily had the most followers gained, her peak viewers and watch time were severely below the other fast growing channels on the list. Fortnite pro Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson only gained 39,208 new followers in the past seven days, but he had 562,804 hours watched and 89,706 peak viewers. His average viewership was 25,854, while Amouranth’s was 2,361, even as she streamed for much longer than most of the other streamers on the list.
Amouranth’s Twitch channel rockets forward
It appears as though the slip gave Amouranth some new notoriety, but that many of the new followers may not be the type to actually spend time watching Amouranth’s brand of content. The IRL streamer spends most of her time in the Just Chatting section. She’s often playing Just Dance in skimpy workout outfits or offering ASMR sessions.
Still, Amouranth took the gained followers as a positive.
“It’s literally impossible to predict what will blow up on the internet. This banning drama has made me more relevant than everything I’ve ever done combined,” Amouranth
said. “There’s nothing embarrassing or online drama-wise that could make me feel bad at this point. It’s no big deal, and just makes my name go up cause when you’re a celebrity adios realittttyyyy.”
Possibly hoping to remain humble in her newfound notoriety, the popular streamer added that she doesn’t care about the fame, and is perfectly happy “never being mentioned” and “quietly streaming” to 2,000-3,000 viewers a day.
