When does the dexter prequel release?
Dexter: Original Sin doesn’t yet have a premiere date, though it has already gone into production. It is being produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.
Showrunner Clyde Phillip is returning for the sequel, which will air on Showtime and Paramount+. Phillip left the original show after Season 4, but his involvement has some fans hoping that the magic of the first few Dexter seasons will be coming back. Many of the show’s later seasons were criticized, including by Philips himself.
He told Entertainment Weekly in 2021, “The show was untethered, and the character was untethered. I wasn’t in the room, so I can’t really criticize anybody for that. I mean, there were videos of people watching the final episode and yelling at their television.”
Several promotional pictures have also been released, giving fans a first look at a young Dexter Morgan and his family. These include him with his father and hovering over a man bound to a table, which is an instant callback to the original Dexter show.
