The teams for The International 2022 playoffs are set, but only a few squads stand out as favorites.

After a thrilling Last Chance Qualifier and a fiercely competitive group stage, 16 teams have qualified for the main event of The International 2022. The event will feature a $16.6 million prize pool, making it the most lucrative esports event of the year. Here are all the teams qualified for The International 2022 playoffs and which side of the bracket they will start on.

  • Evil Geniuses
  • OG

The International 2022 playoffs will use a double-elimination bracket. The first round of the lower bracket will be best-of-ones with later matches becoming best-of-threes until the grand final, which is best-of-five. Upper bracket teams can afford to lose a match while remaining in contention. Lower bracket teams are always one loss away from going home. Both brackets will conclude with a final and the winners of each bracket will meet in the grand final. The International 2022 playoffs start on October 20, 2022.

While the field is generally quite open, Evil Geniuses and PSG.LGD are popular picks as favorites for The International 2022.

Evil Geniuses owned the group stage, ending day four with a remarkable 14-4 record. The North American team 2-0ed several Aegis contenders including Royal Give Up and OG. PSG.LGD started much slower but quickly ramped up with stomps over OG and Team Liquid. LGD has reached the podium of the last three

In addition to the top favorites, The International 2022 also features multiple potential dark horses. Team Secret and Team Liquid tore through the Last Chance Qualifier and bring plenty of experience to the upper bracket. Thunder Awaken and Hokori are both competitive South American teams, and fans should never count OG out at TI.

Fans must watch the playoffs starting on October 20 to learn which Dota 2 squad will win it all.
