The
LEC
broadcast has stepped up its musical game yet again with a new piece of original musical content made with the rock band Against The Current.
Against The Current and vocalist Chrissy Costanza are no strangers to the League of Legends world, with Costanza being one of the lead vocalists on
Worlds anthems
“Phoenix” and “Legends Never Die.” LEC casters Daniel “Drakos” Drakos and Andrew “Vedius” Day join the musical talents of Against The Current in what is sure to be the spring split’s anthem.

Against The Current returns to LoL esports
Rock band Against The Current’s success with “Phoenix” and “Legends Never Die” mixes perfectly with the LEC’s recent effort to lean into musical efforts for each split. With the “Mediocre Rap Battles Of The LEC” series, “EUphoria,” and the emo rock efforts of “LEC,” it makes sense why the LEC would look to elevate the name recognition for 2022’s signature song.
The music video and song all hype up the incoming split with analogous lyrics that can be extrapolated to apply to the LEC’s split. In the music video, Against The Current perform the song alongside Drakos and Vedius in a cinematically lit abandoned warehouse. Ash rains from the sky and symbols of the franchised LCS organizations litter the floor. In several shots, the aesthetic is complete thanks to an enormous LEC logo, the crown, ablaze in an impressive background element.
Vedius takes to vocals next to Costanza, stepping up to sing alongside a genuine rock star while beginning his LEC journey as a caster. Drakos gets an entire rap verse to himself, having proven his penmanship in previous outings with the LEC’s musical creations. If this song is a sign of the things to come, the LEC plans to level up its production in the coming year with more musical productions and even higher profile names.
