FromSoftware is a Japanese video game development studio known for its Soulsborne game series, which includes Elden Ring, Dark Souls franchise, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The company was founded in 1986 by president Hidetaka Miyazaki, and has since released over 50 games across various genres.

The Soulsborne series is FromSoftware’s most well-known franchise. The first game in the series, Demon’s Souls, was released in 2009 for the PlayStation 3. The series has since gone on to spawn two sequels, Dark Souls and Bloodborne, as well as multiple spin-offs, including Sekiro, and the most recent entry in the series, Elden Ring.

The Soulsborne games are renowned for their challenging combat and intense difficulty. Each game in the series requires players to master complex enemy patterns and strategies if they hope to progress through the story. FromSoftware has also become known for its unique art direction and world-building, creating intricate environments that reward exploration and discovery.

The Soulsborne franchise has seen immense success over the years, becoming one of FromSoftware’s most iconic creations. Souslike games have a loyal community behind them, which was greatly enlarged by the launch of Elden Ring in 2022. What made Elden Ring even more special, besides it’s great gameplay and looks, is the help of George R.R. Martin’s storywriting. There was no surprise when Elden Ring took the Game of the Year award last year.

Dark Souls games are some of the most played of all time

The Soulsborne franchise has produced some of the most popular and best-loved video games ever made. FromSoftware’s Dark Souls trilogy is particularly renowned, with all three main entries in the series being amongst the most played games of all time. FromSoftware’s other titles, such as Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring have also become genre classics. Within a week of its release, Elden Ring had 952,523 concurrent players.

FromSoftware continues to be a driving force in the gaming industry, producing highly acclaimed video games that combine challenging gameplay with unique worlds and stories. The studio has successfully built a reputation for excellence over its many years in the industry and shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. FromSoftware will likely continue to create classic titles for years to come.

When is the next FromSoftware game releasing?

FromSoftware has been fairly quiet since the release of Elden Ring in 2022. However, fans are speculating that a new FromSoftware game could be on the horizon. Some rumors suggest that FromSoftware is currently working on a new Soulsborne game, while others point to an entirely new IP.

Until FromSoftware officially announces its next project, however, all we can do is wait and speculate. Regardless of what FromSoftware has planned for the future, fans around the world are sure to be excited to see what this storied developer will produce next.

Who owns FromSoftware?

FromSoftware is owned by Kadokawa Corporation, a Japanese publishing company founded in 1945. Kadokawa owns several major media properties and has produced anime, manga, novels, magazines, and music throughout its long history. FromSoftware was acquired by the company in 2014 and functions as part of its video game division.

Kadokawa hopes to continue FromSoftware’s legacy of creating memorable gaming experiences for years to come. With the success of Elden Ring in recent years, it seems likely that FromSoftware will remain an important player in the video game industry for some time.
