Amazing parts ways with Schalke, seeks return to playing role
Maurice "Amazing" Stückenschneider is parting ways with FC Schalke 04, the former strategic manager announced through Twitter.
Amazing might be returning to active play on the rift, as the jungler is looking for a new home after finishing his contract with Schalke.
Amazing started his career in 2012 with the since-disbanded Absolute Legends team. In 2014 he played with Team SoloMid. The jungler found great success in North America and qualified for the World Championship with TSM, though this would be his only appearance at the annual event.
After his return to Europe, Amazing moved between squads until he found a home with Schalke in May 2018.
As the European LCS transitioned to a franchised model and rebranded as the LEC, the organization made roster changes and Amazing lost his place as starting jungler.
“Honestly, I'm really done swapping teams - I hope that whatever project I'm joining for next year is going to be a long and stable one. Stressful to see teammates & staff come and go every split,” Amazing wrote on Twitter in November.
Later on, the team announced Amazing as the new strategic coach for the organization’s academy team, FC Schalke 04 Evolution. Under Amazing’s coaching, the team qualified to the ESL Meisterschaft 2019 Summer Season.
Now, Amazing is stepping down from the managerial position and is looking to return to a playing position once more.
“I decided to leave Schalke in order to mainly pursue a playing career again. I'm happy about the time spent there, especially due to our similarities in values - hard work, honesty, and fairness, but in order to achieve what I want to achieve I had to leave,” Amazing said.
