As the world waits to see what will come of the latest SK Telecom T1 roster and whether it will live up to its massive potenital, the team's star player is making no secret as to his expectations.
SK Telecom T1 recently defeated the talented LCK newcomers at Sandbox Gaming 2-0. But what stood out more than the team's consistently skillful plays was its star player Le “Faker” Sang-hyeok and his confident attitude in the post-game interview.
Broadly considered to be the greatest League of Legends player in the game's histoy, Faker has reason to be cocky. With a 360 wins to 171 losses over the course of his competitive career, Faker has a win rate of 67.8 percent and a KDA of 4.3.
Riot Korea asked the iconic mid laner how he has been able to maintain such a high win rate with recenty favored champion Lissandra, with whom Faker has eight wins to just one loss so far this split.
“Because I’m good,” Faker said.
The crowd immediately erupted into cheers.
Faker went on to say that he only uses Lissandra because it allows him to cover for his teammates even if they are not playing well.
Later in the interview, Faker was asked if he felt pressure when dodging skillshots in skirmishes, where even the smallest mistakes can lead to untimely deaths.
“I wasn’t too nervous since I played for such a long time,” he said.
In fact, this is Faker’s sixth year as a professional League of Legends player. The SKT star said that everyone cheering for him was what helped him get MVP that day against Sandbox Gaming, and that he hopes fans will continue to support SK Telecom T1 as the team does its best to make it to the LCK finals.
“We will make sure to do well, and end our split on a high note,” Faker said.
