Valve releases patch 7.21d following conclusion of Stockholm major
The Stockholm major has concluded and Valve has released another batch of tweaks for Dota 2.
DreamLeague Season 11 crowned Vici Gaming with its first Dota Pro Circuit major tournament championship title. After the third DPC major of the season, patch 7.21d was rolled out to make significant nerfs and buffs to the game’s heroes in need of either.
Like prior game patches, 7.21d gameplay update aims to balance heroes and items to provide more even matchups. Small but significant changes were included in this recent patch.
The new patch starts by making the dire hard camp pull easier. Four in-game items were then tweaked, namely Aeon Disk, Guardian Greaves, Rod of Atos, and Solar Crest.
The recipe cost for Aeon Disk was reduced to 1100, while recipe cost for Guardian Greaves was increased to 1800. Rod of Atos’ cooldown was made longer by 2 seconds and its cast range was reduced by 50.
Most heroes included in the patch were given small buffs. Some heroes that were buffed include Arc Warden, Centaur Warrunner, Dragon Knight, Drow Ranger, Enchantress, Pudge, Sand King, Storm Spirit, Windranger, and Zeus.
Centaur Warrunner received significant buffs with the increase of damage to its Double Edge from 40/60/80/100% to 60/80/100/120%. His level 20 talent was changed from +50 Retaliate Damage to +70.
Sand King’s Sand Storm damage was increased to 20/45/70/95, while his Burrowstrike range was also increased to 400/500/600/700.
Notable changes were also made to new hero Mars, who received a few nerfs in this patch. His strength gain was reduced from 3.6 to 3.2. Spear of Mars’ vision was reduced to 300, while God's Rebuke’s mana cost was increased from 55/60/65/70 to 65/70/75/80.
Pangolier’s Lucky Shot chance was reduced to 17% and the ability will no longer be able to silence and disarm enemy heroes at the same time. Rolling Thunder’s mana cost was increased later in the game, moving from a flat 100 to 100/150/200.
7.21d’s nerfs also included Puck’s Dream Coil, which can no longer latch on to spell immune units.
Lifestealer, Naga Siren, Shadow Shaman, Ursa, and Viper also received a few nerfs.
