FaZe Clan shows off new execute for Mirage against Furia Esports

A fun clip from a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive match proves that learning never stops, even for a legend like Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson. 

During a match against Team Furia in the Gamers Without Borders Cup, the camera spotted an interesting interaction between FaZe Clan’s Håvard “rain” Nygaard and olofmeister. Both players hung out in the terrorist base, trying out a new lineup for connector smoke. 

Many players rely heavily on their aim and disregard new information and utility setups. While there is some stagnation in the overall CSGO scene, Olofmeister has proved that there’s always something to learn in CSGO. The Swedish professional has over 10 years of experience in Counter-Strike, which has helped him become one of the world’s best shots in CSGO. Yet despite his extensive record, the legendary player patiently waited as Rain shot the first lineup so olofmeister could learn and follow. 

Mirage is an old map at this point. Players know almost all lineups on this map as it’s one of the most played locations. However, you can block a location in many different ways. For example, you may want to switch up your lineups to manage time, mitigate risks, or set up a teammate’s utility. 

The one demonstrated by Rain is a good ol’ connector smoke, a typical area players block before executing A. However, this new lineup can help you fake A site and move towards B quicker. Here’s how you can replicate it in-game. 

Line up against the wooden planks sitting in T base towards the palace railing. Place your crosshair at the corner of the cable, as shown in the video. Press the jump key and release the grenade. The smoke will bounce off jungle and land in the middle of the connector entrance, blocking enemies’ view from B short, catwalk, and close connector.

You can utilize this smoke to execute on A or you can employ this lineup as a decoy to confuse the CTs. Paired this decoy with one more A site nade, you can easily clear out B. 

Is Olofmeister switching to Valorant? 

Olofmeister has returned to CSGO after his small break from competitive play. The pro player earlier commented that a Valorant switch isn’t entirely off the cards, but he’d like to explore his options in CSGO first.
