Legendary Counter-Strike: Global Offensive AWPer Özgür “woxic” Eker has finally returned from competitive inactivity after six months.

The Turkish CSGO pro took to Twitter to announce his comeback after going under the radar for months. Woxic further revealed that he has prepared a squad of five, all set to compete in future tournaments. His team is currently on a lookout for an organization to back the project.

Woxic faces frustrations in recent CSGO career

Woxic’s recent years in CSGO have been turbulent as the pro player could barely cement his foot in one team. The 22-year old player made a breakthrough in mousesports, emerging as one of the best AWPers in CSGO. Woxic managed to post a stellar rating during his time in mousesports, ultimately breaking into the list of top 20 players in 2019. Woxic reached his career’s pinnacle in mousesports, becoming the driving force behind the team’s success in 2019.

Despite multiple wins under his belt, the player’s stay in mousesports was short-lived. His big entry into now deactivated Cloud9 colossus was expected to be his rejuvenation project, but Woxic became one of the first players to drop out of the team. The back-to-back switches led Woxic to inactivity of six months, with many players doubting he’ll ever return to pro play.

The news comes as a fresh breath of air for Woxic fans, expecting him to follow in the footsteps of other pros like Tarik “tarik” Celik who switched to streaming Valorant. However, Woxic has made clear that he’s not done with professional CS yet. The pro player hasn’t only declared his return but has announced an org-less project that is complete and ready to compete. Woxic hasn’t revealed players’ names, but reports suggest that he’s cooking up a superteam that will exclusively include Turkish players.

What CSGO team will Woxic play for?

The selected five players are currently looking for an organization to make the team official. Unfortunately, dozens of well-reputed CSGO rosters are rolling org-less in 2021, so it won’t be an easy task for Woxic and co. to find a home. However, Woxic has a decorated career in Valve’s shooter, which should make his search a bit less complicated.
