Mineski drop two players following continued major struggles
Mineski has parted ways with two of the team's players.
After the post-TI shuffle, Febby joined the Mineski roster along with Damien "kpii" Chok and Thiay "March" Jun Wen. The departure of Chai "Mushi" Yee Fung opened a slot that led to pieliedie completing the new roster in November.
The team started the current Dota Pro Circuit season with an SEA Qualifier invitation in the Kuala Lumpur Major. Mineski had a rough start as they placed fifth in the qualifiers.
Mineski took a longer route in the qualifiers of the season’s second major tournament. The team successfully found its way to an open qualifier spot, but fall short in the SEA qualifier proper. Mineski ended with a third-place finish just below the two major spots given to the Southeast Asian region.
The side had a brief redemption through winning a Red Bull Guardians event. This was followed by an AMD Dota Pro Series title, where the team notably beat defending TI champion OG.
However, the side was once considered as the kings of SEA has fallen badly behind in the DPC standings. Mineski failed to qualify through minor tournaments as well as competing SEA powerhouse such as Fnatic and TNC continue to dominate regional qualifiers.
After a series of underwhelming performances, Mineski seemed to finally find its stride when the team qualified to the third DPC major. Its first major run looked promising as the squad earned a position in the upper bracket.
These results may have signaled to Mineski that it was time for another roster revamp.
“It has been a pleasure to have Febby and pie on our roster, they both brought great energy and maturity, and helped build a great environment for the team which was important for our recent qualification to the major,” Mineski General Manager Zak "Dash" Holman said.
Mineski is yet to announce who will fill the now vacant positions on the team’s roster.
