Some Fortnite skins are rarer than others, and seeing players run around in the game can get a lot of battle royale players feeling both hyped up and a little jealous.

While recent months have seen a lot of pop culture crossover skins, some of the most desired skins are much older thanks to how hard it is to come across them. Here are some of the rarest Fortnite skins in the entire game.

Honor Guard

Honor Guard

This skin was free, but it wasn’t available to just anyone. Only players who purchased the Honor View 20 smartphone were able to unlock this skin. This was a phone only available in China at the time and it cost a whopping $750. While hardcore Fortnite players imported the phone just to get the Honor Guard skin, the skin has remained quite elusive.

Double Helix

Double Helix Fortnite

This is another skin that was only available to Fortnite players who purchased an expensive piece of technology. This time around it was a limited edition Nintendo Switch Fortnite bundle. The console came with a DLC code for the Double Helix skin along with 1,000 V-Bucks. This skin remains rare because this bundle is no longer widely available and is often only found at an extreme cost from third-party sellers.

Reaper

Fortnite Reaper

Fortnite players immediately recognized the Reaper to be Keanu Reeves’ character from the John Wick films when it was released in the Chapter 1 Season 3 Battle Pass. The Level 100 reward was short-lived. But then Epic Games added an official John Wick skin to Fortnite in 2019 and fans immediately noticed how similar it was to the Reaper skin. While the John Wick skin is in the Item Shop frequently, the Reaper has not yet made a return, making it a rare find.

Royale Bomber

Interested in another Fortnite skin that was originally free but required an expensive purchase to unlock? The Royale Bomber was only available to players who purchased a specific PlayStation 4 package. Later on, it was also part of a bundle with DualShock 4 controllers. But both of these units sold out fast, making the skin hard to come by to this day.

Radiant Striker

Radiant Striker Fortnite

This skin has remained one of the rarest skins of all time. It was only available to purchase up until January 10, 2019. It hasn’t appeared in the Item Shop since. As Fortnite continues to focus on pop culture skins, the Radiant Striker will most likely continue to be quite rare.

Black Knight

Black Knight Fortnite

This elusive skin was only available back in Chapter 1 Season 2. Even then, Fortnite players could only get it by maxing out the Battle Pass by reaching Level 70. These days battle passes go up to Level 100, but that was the first-ever Fortnite Battle Pass all the way back in 2017. Since there were fewer players at the time, it’s hard to come by this rare skin in-game.

Aerial Assault Trooper

Aerial Assault Trooper Fortnite

If you thought the previous skin was old, try this one. The Aerial Assault Trooper is from before battle passes even existed. Players could only purchase this skin in the Item shop during Chapter 1 Season 1. They had to be at Level 15 or higher and spend 1,200 V-Bucks. Even though this wasn’t a high cost, most players chose the Renegade Raider skin instead. This has made this skin very rare indeed. It’s quite possibly the rarest skin in Fortnite.
