Challengers Uprising Season 3 is heading into its last group round

Challengers Uprising Season 3 has kicked off and is now moving into the last round of the group stage.

With two rounds concluded of the group stage thus far, some teams are already out of contention. The teams who won’t make it into the playoffs are Revival, Maryville University, and Radiance. The remaining 13 teams still have a shot at making the playoffs, some with much better chances than others. So far, it’s the LCS-sponsored organizations that are doing well with a few independent amateur teams also looking to move on in the tournament.

A total of four groups are competing at the Challengers Uprising event, giving fans a lot to keep track of. In three of the groups, only three teams have the chance to move on to the playoffs. Group B is still completely open. In group B, it’s as expected with Golden Guardians Academy playing the best. With a record of 2-0, it seems like the academy team will stroll through the group stage.

At the bottom is Dignitas Mirage, who started out 0-2 and will need a minor miracle to move on. For Dignitas Mirage to have a shot, they must win against Resolve and hope that Golden Guardians Academy takes down 100 Thieves Next. If this happens, we might be looking at a big round of tiebreakers in that group.

Moving into the last round of games in the group stage, all groups will essentially be exciting to follow. No team is locked in for a spot in the playoffs yet, making it an open competition for most teams. The last day of the group stage will also be serving some exciting matchups, with much focus on Evil Geniuses Prodigies vs. TSM Amateur in group A. It looks like these will be the teams potentially fighting for the second and final spot in that group.

Fans can also look forward to Golden Guardians Academy vs. 100 Thieves Next, which is naturally an exciting matchup. Golden Guardians is the only academy team in the league, while 100 Thieves Next has been a frontrunner in the North American amateur scene.

The next round of games kicks off on Monday, May 31, followed up with the playoffs starting on June 1.
