Riot introduce LCS Watch Party Program including Doublelift, LS

The LCS co-streaming program will be getting a big update and rebranding ahead of the 2021 LCS Summer Split. 

For the past few splits, select content creators have been able to co-stream the LCS to build a community around the biggest LoL league in North America. Riot is now taking another step in supporting these content creators by introducing the LCS Watch Party Program. This program will include some big names who have been co-streaming the LCS on a regular basis over the course of the spring split.  

The LCS Watch Party Program will operate independently from the broader League Partnership Program (LPP), meaning the content creators in the LPP are no longer guaranteed co-streaming permissions. 

“The aim of the Watch Party Program is to deepen the connection between LCS and our program partners through more opportunities for content,” Riot said.

For the upcoming summer split, the program will feature a total of six content creators with a chance of adding more members during the split. The streamers represented are already big names in the League of Legends community, who gather thousands of viewers for their respective streams regularly. 

The LCS Watch Party will feature: 

• Nick “LS” Cesare
• Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng
• Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi
• William “Meteos” Hartman
• Christian “IWillDominate” Rivera
• Moe “Yassuo” Abdalrhman

The program will also consist of “FlyQuest Presents LCS En Vivo,” which will act under the category of other stream partners. 

When does the 2021 LCS Summer Split start?

The new program will be effective from when the 2021 LCS Summer Split starts on June 4. The split will host the 10 best North American teams, who will all fight for spots at the 2021 World Championship. 

All teams have had time to prepare for the opening day, except for Cloud9 who will have to do with less preparation after attending the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational. Cloud9 was knocked out after the rumble stage following a tournament with mixed results. To bounce back, Cloud9 will return to the LCS and chase yet another trophy. 

When the split kicks off, it’s expected that all six partnered streamers will be co-streaming the LCS games on a weekly basis.
