Fortnite is set to feature another huge collaboration.

Epic Games has announced a crossover event between Fortnite and the NBA. “Fortnite x NBA: The Crossover” will see custom skin sets for each NBA team released in Fortnite. Alongside this will be other unique offerings tailored around specific big-name players who happen to be fans of Fortnite. This confirmed part of previous leaks from the Epic Games vs. Apple lawsuit.

“Ahead of the 2021 NBA Playoffs, the league is joining Fortnite for the first time ever! Coinciding with the debut of the State Farm NBA Play-In Tournament, Fortnite x NBA: The Crossover brings basketball’s best into the Item Shop and Fortnite Creative, and with Team Battles, a unique experience featuring all 30 NBA teams in Fortnite,” Epic Games said in a statement.

The biggest addition to Fortnite that will come of the Fortnite x NBA: The Crossover is the collection of 31 new skins based on NBA teams, including full uniforms for all 30 franchises. The sets include jerseys for the player’s character as well as a basketball hoop back bling adorned with the team’s logo.

For Fortnite players that want to support specific NBA stars, the Fortnite x NBA: The Crossover event is set to feature Player Lockers. Player Lockers are sets of skins selected by NBA players based on what they like to wear when they play Fortnite. Each Player Locker set includes a skin, wrap, harvesting tool, and emote, but some sets can include more.

The first two Player Lockers come from Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell and Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young. Mitchell has a set themed around sharks and fire that includes the Cozy Chomps outfit, Sharky Shawl back bling, Fire Spinner emote, Dynamic Fire wrap, and Stark Splitter Pickaxe. Young’s set is smaller, but boasts the Baller emote, Scarlet Commander outfit, Gold Digger Pickaxe, and Happy Stars wrap.

The final part of the Fortnite x NBA: The Crossover event is Fortnite x NBA: Team Battles. The event will allow Fortnite players to compete in a tournament where players represent one of the 30 NBA teams. Players will need to sign up on the official Fortnite website, but the top prize is an exclusive back bling based on the NBA Championship trophy.

When does Fortnite x NBA: The Crossover start?

The Fortnite x NBA skins will arrive in the game on May 21, but a price has not been revealed. The Fortnite x NBA: Team Battles competition begins earlier, starting on May 19.
