E3 is approaching and Call of Duty fans are hoping to hear more about the latest Call of Duty game coming out later this year. It could be the first time players see a trailer. Until then, Call of Duty players have been dedicating themselves to uncovering leaks, rumors, and hints about the newest title in the popular first-person shooter series.

When is Call of Duty 2021 coming out?

During Activision’s Q1 earnings call, it was confirmed that a new Call of Duty game is in development and may be released later in 2021. But not much has been said since. Activision president Dan Alegre did have some promising words for fans that would seem to dispel rumors of the 2021 edition of Call of Duty being delayed.

“We are very excited for this year’s premium Call of Duty release. Development is being led by Sledgehammer Games. The game is looking great and on track for its Fall (2021) release,” Alegre said.

What is Call of Duty 2021 called?

It’s rumored that the game will be called Call of Duty: WWII Vanguard. While most fans expected a new Call of Duty title to come out in 2021, the return to a World War II theme is more of a surprise.

Who is developing Call of Duty 2021?

Sledgehammer Games will be developing the new Call of Duty game. The studio also co-developed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and assisted with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Because Sledgehammer’s past games have been such a success, fans have high expectations for Call of Duty 2021.

Where can you play Call of Duty 2021?

According to the Q1 call, Activision is developing the new game with next-gen consoles in mind. This includes PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The game will most likely be available on PS4 and Xbox 1 as well, though they are not the priority in development. Players should definitely expect better graphics than previous titles, including campaign and multiplayer modes.

What game modes are in Call of Duty 2021?

YouTuber Jeff Grubb explained that he’s heard rumors that Call of Duty’s newest title may not have a multiplayer mode. According to his research, Activision is facing a lot of issues with multiplayer development at the moment. This is a surprising update for competitive FPS players who’ve come to rely on regular new releases for their fix of online Call of Duty action.

Despite those rumors, some leaks suggest that Call of Duty 2021 will have a zombie mode. The rumors point to Treyarch as developers of the zombie portion of the game, collaborating with Sledgehammer.
