Call of Duty: Warzone has a big problem with hackers, and Jack “CouRage” Dunlop and Timothy “TimtheTatman” Betar have had enough.

The two popular Warzone streamers were playing the battle royale with NICKMERCS and Cloakzy in a May 13 stream when they came across a group of hackers. The experience was so frustrating that CouRage decided to contact Activision. On Twitter, CouRage stated that it would be “extremely beneficial” to have someone at Activision or Raven Software watch the live stream and ban the “blatant cheaters on the spot.”

“Currently, there are two cheaters joining our lobbies and ruining our Warzone experience with about 150,000 live viewers watching,” CouRage said.

The plea for help from the 100 Thieves co-owner prompted quick action from the developers. Activision worked so fast, in fact, that the hackers were banned mid-stream. TimTheTatman and his squad were busy ranting about the impossible plays from the hackers when they disappeared from the match. This caused the streamers to explode into applause and cheers.

“Oh my god, they actually did it!” the streamers collectively exclaimed.

The absolute glee from the four players was infectious. The chat also couldn’t help but go crazy as the hackers were banned from the game. CouRage shared the moment with fans who weren’t there for the glorious accomplishment by posting the clip on Twitter.

TimTheTatman also confirmed later on that the cheater had been officially banned. They didn’t just leave the game.

Warzone hackers and cheaters continue to be a problem

Despite this being a satisfying moment in Warzone history, it points to a bigger issue. TimTheTatman, CouRage, NICKMERCS, and Cloakzy were elated because of the frustration they’ve had in dealing with hackers so often. Facing a cheater in Warzone is a frequent occurence and most players don’t have as much pull with Activision, meaning they wouldn’t be able to get the hacker banned so swiftly. And that’s a problem.

CouRage couldn’t help but continue to bask in the moment after seeing hackers banned live on stream, and it’s hard to blame him.

“I still can’t believe how incredible today was… Having a hacker banned live on stream by Activision/Raven Software themselves was EPIC,” CouRage said.
