Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom is the new player to complain about the Valorant deathmatch being bad.

Crisp aim is the bedrock of any first-person shooter game. In Valorant, you can master your agent abilities to perfection, but you can’t ladder up unless you have good aim. For this purpose, the tactical shooter has a deathmatch mode specifically for players looking to hone up their shooting.

However, most players aren’t happy with how deathmatch in Valorant works. Team Liquid’s Valorant professional player ScreaM also agrees that deathmatch isn’t helping him improve.

“I don’t like DM. I am dying from behind every single time. It’s not my thing. It’s not helping me to improve or warmup bro. It’s only helping me rage. I need to ask Riot, why what?” ScreaM said.

In his recent stream, the pro player connected into a deathmatch mode to warmup for ranked games but disconnected after getting shot from behind. His frustration was quite evident as he barely got a chance to do aim practice due to campers.

Previously, many pro players have expressed their dissatisfaction with the poor deathmatch. TSM’s James “hazed” Cobb also brought the developer’s attention towards a broken deathmatch experience that feels like any other competitive game mode.

Why don’t people like Valorant’s Deathmatch mode

A deathmatch’s true purpose is to practice aim with different weapons, but Valorant DM often has a competitive undertone to it. The mode lasts for nine minutes, but it would end earlier if the top fragger ends up scoring 40 kills before the timer. This target forces players to employ tactics, camp, and race to win the game mode, which refutes the true purpose of deathmatch.

As shown in screaM’s clips, players would start camping in tight corners to bag extra kills. This can be stressful for players who tune in to the mode for a fast-paced shooting experience. Slow respawn timings add insult to injury for serious players who spend most of their time in DM finding players and respawning in front of campers.

The developer has previously responded to complaints and has ensured that deathmatch mode will see tweaks in future. However, so far, no significant improvement has been made. Here’s hoping that screaM’s rage quit from deathmatch mode brings positive changes to the game mode.
