Nickmercs reveals that he is now a FaZe Clan co-owner
Nickmercs reveals that he is now a FaZe Clan co-owner
Streamer Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff is no longer just a content creator for FaZe Clan. He is now a part-owner of the popular esports organization.
The rumor began when The Verge introduced Nickmercs as “part-owner” of FaZe Clan within an
article
about the popular Fortnite personality. At the time, FaZe Clan and Nickmercs had not publicly confirmed the alleged ownership but Nickmercs decided to make a comment about the rumor the following day.
During a stream, esports content creator and host Jake Lucky shared a tweet with a clip of one of Nickmercs’ recent streams. In the fitness stream, a viewer said Nickmercs was going to become the owner of FaZe. In response, Nickmercs burped, laughed quietly to himself, and then continued to work out his pecs.
“Nickmercs when asked if he’s going to be co-owner of FaZe Clan,” Lucky tweeted.
In response, Nickmercs decided to finally confirm the rumor. In the tweet, Nickmercs noted that he also “got the equity I was promised.”
“It all worked out in the end,” Nickmercs said.
Got the equity I was promised too ???? It all worked out in the end Jakey boy ????

While fans were excited to have the news confirmed by Nickmercs himself, it isn’t too surprising. Nickmercs is one of the most popular streamers on FaZe Clan’s roster, joining the hype organization in 2019 as part of a partnership. His deal was extended in September 2020, increasing the partnership for three years.
Nickmercs being co-owner of the organization most likely means the streamer is going to stick with FaZe for the foreseeable future.
How much of FaZe Clan does Nickmercs own?
At the moment, only the co-ownership and equity are confirmed. The details behind the co-ownership are private. It’s unclear what the co-ownership entails and if it’s separate from his original partnership contract with FaZe Clan.
With FaZe Clan looking to go public soon, the revenue possibilities in esports continue to look strong. The presence of big brands like FaZe Clan are one big part of that. Another is the continued rise of esports betting.
Esports betting markets have taken off around the world. Legalization efforts continue in both the United States and Canada, while many European markets are already providing revenues to companies that have invested into the industry. Taking one look at
esports betting in France
or the United Kingdom shows the prevalence of platforms in these regions, and their bottom lines show the growing potential for success.
