These 2 Overpass lineups let CTs lock up the B bombsite from A

The unique map design of Overpass makes it a bit tricky to play on the Counter-Terrorists side. Learning these two lineups may help you win rounds on defense.

While Overpass is a relatively CT-sided map, defending a site can be a nuisance if you don’t know your way around utility. Molotovs are crucial for blocking off narrow entryways on both the A and B sites, since Terrorists can easily catch the CTs off-guard with a split push and flashes. Both sites have multiple entrances that facilitate the Terrorists to blast open a bomb site.

Overpass has a complex design, but its small size allows Terrorists to reach the bomb site faster. Using a timely smoke and molotov can stuff a hard push. Here’s how you can stop the Terrorists on B site of Overpass.

You can quickly block off monster with smokes from A site, helping your teammates at B contest a hard push. For a smoke lineup, line yourself up behind the dumpster and equip a smoke grenade. Place your crosshair at the edge of the pipe, crouch and release the smoke. This will land at the end of the canal, blocking enemies’ vision coming in from T spawn.

If the Terrorists plan to commit to B site, they might turn towards A short to continue their charge. A quick molotov can help put an end to a B-site ambush. For a molotov, stand near the white railing and place your crosshair at the board like in the image. Press your jump bind-key and throw the fire. This is a unique molotov that will land outside A short canal, blocking off enemies.

This is how the utility should land:

These two lineups will help shore up B if teammates are in need, providing the site anchor with enough time to prepare for incoming enemies. The B site players can also use their utility later on in the round in retake situations.

What is Olofboost?

Olofboost is one of the most controversial and famous plays in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The strat happened at Dreamhack Major in 2014 and is named for Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson. In a match between Team LDLC and Fnatic, CSGO veteran Olofmeister was lifted up with a three-man boost that gave him a very high sightline that provided him with a bird’s eye view of B, allowing him to light up LDLC with sniper rifles. Fnatic came back from a 13-3 deficit but a series of challenges by both teams ultimately ended with Fnatic forfeiting the map, allowing LDLC to advance and eventually win the tournament.
