Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski is primarily known as a streamer on Twitch, but he’s set to make a name for himself as a pro player as well.

The Swede has successfully qualified for the upcoming DreamLeague Season 15 lower division, setting Gorgc up to compete in the Dota Pro Circuit. He will do so as a part of Team Bald, a squad which boasts the following roster:

  1. Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski
  2. Steve “Xcalibur” Ye
  3. Roy “Rajjix” al Rajji
  4. Enis “5up” Elfki
  5. Axel “Pablo” Källman

Team Bald advanced to the closed qualifiers by winning out of the first set of open qualifiers. The team then had to face a number of prominent veterans and upstarts in the closed qualifiers in order to make the cut for the DreamLeague Season 15 Lower Division.

The squad’s journey started with a defeat to Bulgarian side plan-B esports. The team was then knocked into the lower bracket by Ghost Frogs, a roster that includes a number of proven European talents including former Vikin.gg player Tobias “Tobi” Buchner and ex-mudgolem Milan “MiLAN” Kozomara.

Gorgc and Team Bald qualify for DPC competition

That put Gorgc and Team Bald in a position where it needed to win out to advance into the DreamLeague Season 15 lower division. That started with the team toppling Mihai “canceL^^” Antonio’s revived Hehe United and continued on with a win over Meta4Pro, a huge coup over one of the teams that had been relegated from the competition.

The final challenge for Team Bald was against Astronauts, an all-Finnish team led by former Alliance player Petu “Peksu” Vaatainen. The series was a brutal one that went the full distance of a best-of-three series and culminated with an 80-minute final game. The match was decided with a well-executed team fight by Team Bald to take the second spot in the lower division.

Team Bald and Gorgc will join the likes of Vikin.gg and High Coast Esports in DreamLeague Season 15’s lower division. They’ll face an uphill battle when it comes to qualifying for a spot in the upper division, but the team still has a chance to climb further.

Why did Gorgc leave OG?

Gorgc left OG after a short time in 2020 citing a “conflict of interest” that prevented him from fulfilling his obligations to the organization. This was likely due to changes made to Dota 2 policies regarding streamers and tournaments as OG entered into a revenue sharing deal with OMEGA League alongside a number of other top Dota 2 organizations.
