Empire, Thunder Predator, Detonator among BTS Spring Cup winners
BTS Spring Cup is an online tournament that took place in three different regions. Four teams from Southeast Asia, the Americas, and Europe were directly invited to compete for the $20,000 prize pool.
Detonator took command of the first game with a marked net worth advantage and successive kill streaks. Tigers found their rebuttal in the second game as they successfully played a draft that was heavy on engagements and team fighting.
Unfortunately for Tigers, the next two games saw the momentum shift solidly back to Detonator’s side. The team stomped Tigers in 19 minutes during the third game, while the fourth game saw a 35-kill advantage run up in Detonator’s favor before Tigers finally tapped out.
Thunder Predator showed its dominance in the Americas region. Their final series against the team Raw, also known as Burning Bridges, ended with a 3-1 score.
The South American side began the series with outstanding Templar Assassin plays from Leonardo "LeoStyle-" Sifuentes. The game quickly turned lopsided as Thunder Predator ended the tilt with a 22K net worth advantage.
Raw chalked up a win in the second game, but Thunder Predator then turned the series around and never looked back, stomping Raw to win the region’s title.
The European region’s grand final series was a nailbiter. Team Empire opened a series versus Team Singularity with an aggressive draft and well-executed team fights. Empire clinched the first win, but Team Singularity found its stride in the second and third games to take the series lead.
The fourth game swung back and forth before Team Empire managed to win several key fights that made their opposition tap out.
Singularity seemed unable to recover from the fourth game loss, as the final game was a quick 21-minute battle that heavily favored Team Empire from start to finish and saw Empire crowned champion of the European region.
