Watch T1 Faker dominate with Zoe after making his big LCK return

T1 mid laner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has been popping off in the LCK after returning to the starting lineup one week ago. 

In T1’s most recent game against DRX, Faker was the one to carry his team to victory. The three-time world champion got to play Zoe in both games and there was absolutely nothing DRX could do to control him. Out of several impressive plays, the best from Faker was made during the first game in the series. In a fight that looked lost for T1, Faker popped off on Zoe and managed to clean up the last few kills through great skill-shot accuracy and champion movement. 

T1 Faker gets three kills in close fight against DRX

The fight started late in the first game of the series, after 33 minutes where both teams were very even. T1 had the lead through superior macro, but DRX was starting to threaten the victory with good scaling picks including Kai’Sa, Viktor, and Lillia. 

Both teams were looking to get the Baron and a fight erupted. It was DRX who got off to the best start in the fight, instantly taking down T1 support Ryu “Keria” Min-seok. Shortly after, T1 got back into it by bursting down DRX support Son “Becca” Min-woo, making the fight even again. 

From this point on, it was all about execution as both supports were dead. The explosive fight led to kills for both sides, leaving it to a 2v2 between T1’s Faker and Kim “Canna” Chang-dong and DRX’s Hwang “Kingen” Seong-hoon and Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon. 

In the 2v2, it seemed like DRX would be able to come out ahead. This was until Faker started to pop off on Zoe, making plays that are rarely seen at this high of a level. In the blink of an eye, Faker turned the fight on his own by picking up Summoner Spells from the ground through Spell Thief (W). Faker picked up two Flashes and a Heal, which was enough to kite the two DRX players and snipe down Pyosik from afar. Shortly after, Faker burst down Kingen to secure an ace and, later on, the victory. 

With the 2-0 win for T1, they are now in contention to secure fourth place in the LCK spring split. 

Did Faker leave T1?

Faker is still playing on T1 in 2021 but has been subbed out for many games in the first split of the year. T1 is running a 10-man roster in 2021, which means that the starting lineup is changing from week to week. While some players might have thought that Faker left the team or was subbed out against his will, it was Faker’s own decision to take a few weeks’ break to get back in form for the 2021 LCK Spring Split playoffs, according to the legendary player himself. 

Does Faker own T1?

After resigning with T1 at the beginning of 2020, Faker became a part-owner of T1 Entertainment & Sports. The signing extended Faker’s contract by three years, which means it will run through 2022.
