Dota 2 star ana returns to OG, fills out championship roster
Dota 2 star Anathan “ana” Pham is back from his break.
OG announced on Twitter that the carry player has returned. The accompanying video started off with tweets from fans expressing how much they wanted ana to come back.
This may be just what the Dota 2 needs to rise back to the top.
A break from Dota 2
ana played a major role in OG taking home the Aegis at the 2018 edition of The International. But it was a win that appeared to come with a cost. John “N0tail” Sundstein had said that the team had a grueling schedule going into TI8, and that OG needed a breather afterwards.
But when OG came back from its break ready to take on the Chongqing Major European qualifiers, fans noticed that ana was missing. OG instead played with Per Anders Olsson “Pajkatt” Lille, and later with Igor “iLTW” Filatov, but results were underwhelming.
OG members wren't alone in missing ana. Fans continued looking for signs that ana would be back, and rumors of his return started swirling when ana was spotted playing online with a member of his former squad, Sebastien “7ckngMad” Debs.
#DreamOG returns
The 19-year-old Dota 2 phenomenon is now doing his third tour with OG.
ana first joined the organization in the summer of 2016, but that ended just a year later after OG finished in seventh place at The International 2017. After a few short stints with Team World and Echo International, ana was asked to join OG once again in preparation for TI8.
This time the squad has its eyes on the MDL Disneyland Paris Major at the end of March.
“Back to bootcamp! Motivation at its peak right now,” 7ckngMad said.
