The LEC is heading into its last week of the regular season, which means that it’s time to draft the last fantasy LEC team before the playoffs start.

When the playoffs start, only the six best teams will continue on in the LEC. So week 8 of the regular split is the last chance to draft a team where all players in the league are available. As always, some players are likely to perform better than others, but it’s important to consider the cost. It’s time to take a look at some of the best picks for the upcoming LEC week and some potential value picks that could end up surprising.

G2 Esports and MAD Lions could end in a bloodbath

The match of the week is G2 Esports vs. MAD Lions, and for good reason. Both teams are locked in for a spot in the playoffs but are still fighting for the best seeding possible. This makes the matchup very interesting to follow, and a match between two aggressive teams is perfect to score a lot of points.

As the top team in the league, it’s no surprise that G2 players are really expensive, but it can still pay off to invest in one or two of these players. G2 bot laner Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has gathered a lot of kills this split and is currently leading the league in kills with 91 total. Rekkles is also the player in the league that has died the least this split, with only 14 deaths so far. These two stats alone make Rekkles worth investing in, despite his cost of $11,700 from a budget of $50,000.

For cheaper options, eyes should be on the MAD Lions players. So far, MAD Lions has played well throughout the split and isn’t an opponent to be underestimated. With the right champions, MAD Lions could potentially pull off an upset against G2 and score a lot of points.

For MAD Lions, rookie jungler Javier “Elyoya” Batalla has gotten the most kills on the team. He is sitting at a whopping 65 kills this split, which is the second-highest amongst all junglers in the league. Elyoya can be added to the team for $10,200, which could end up being a huge value pick for the jungle. Another valuable pick could be MAD Lions top laner İrfan “Armut” Tükek at a small cost of $9,300

Vitality players have confidence in going for the miracle run

To afford some of the star players from the big team, it’s necessary to buy some players on a budget. A good team to look at here is Vitality as the team starting to come back into form after a horrible start to the split. Vitality still has a slight chance to make the playoffs, so its players will be hungry to continue a winning streak from last week.

After Vitality picked up bot laner Juš “Crownshot” Marušič, the team has slowly started to improve. This is while Crownshot has been farming a lot of kills in most recent games, with a total of 33 after just eight games played. For the draft, Crownshot will be a fairly cheap option for the bot lane at a cost of $10,800.

Going deeper into the budget, it’s worth looking at the support position. This isn’t a position that scores the great number of points, so it’s only natural to spare fewer dollars on that position. Here it’s possible to pick up Vitality support Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis for $8,100, with a real chance to still get some points out of it.

Vitality will be facing Astralis, Schalke 04, and Misfits Gaming in the last week of the regular split. All these teams have been very shaky, giving Vitality a real chance to go 3-0.
