The Spanish organization MAD Lions is looking for international players to fill out their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster.

According to a report by 1pv.fr, MAD Lions is considering several European players for its CSGO team. The news comes as MAD Lions are down to only one active player, with only Thomas “TMB” Bundsbaek remaining.

It would mean a major shift in direction for the organization, as it has fielded a Danish lineup ever since acquiring the former Tricked squad at the end of 2019. In recent months, several players got sold off to different teams, when Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand joined mousesport and the duo of Ismail “refrezh” Ali and Rasmus “sjuush” Beck were bought by Team Heroic.

Today, MAD Lions announced that two of their remaining player, Fredrik “roeJ” and Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, are placed on the transfer list. MAD Lions says it wants a “new direction” for its CSGO division.

roeJ confirms MAD Lions are looking for international players

In a Twitlonger, roeJ confirmed that the recent departure of sjuush and refrezh caused the organization to assemble an international roster. While there is enough Danish talent available, MAD Lions are convinced that bringing in foreign talent will give a boost to their CSGO team.

According to the previously mentioned report by 1pv.fr, MAD Lions are in talks with several free agents. Simon “twist” Eliasson, Michal “MICHU” Muller, and Bogdan “xsepower” Chernikov are all reportedly in talks to join the team.

MAD Lions has been active in CSGO since 2017. Early on, the team was mostly represented by Spanish players. But at the end of 2019, it acquired the former Tricked lineup. The team won FLASHPOINT Season 1 , but has recently struggled to find consistency in their performance.
