Here are the abilities of new Valorant agent Astra
Valorant's 15th agent is almost here and she's a much-needed addition to the controller roster.
Riot Games' newest addition to Valorant is Astra, who has celestial powers that can let her toy with enemies. The new controller joins other agents in the class including Viper, Brimstone, and Omen. Alongside standard-issue smokes, Astra brings a lot of unique tools to the battlefield.

Hailing from Ghana, Astra gathers her power from the cosmos. Astra utilizes her stars to manipulate Valorant maps, weaken enemies, and provide her teammates with an edge over the enemies. The developer revealed that African futurism was the main inspiration behind the celestial controller, whose in-game strengths lie in predicting enemies' actions and adaptability.
"We wanted her skill expression to be about gathering information and turning that into a plan, where the execution phase is less about precisely targeting a grenade throw and more about seeing if your read on the enemy came together how you hoped," said Jordan "Riot Wrekz" Anton.
Here are Astra's abilities in Valorant
Astra's kit is primarily built around supporting aggressive duelists. As an Astra main, you can place stars on the map that can be activated later in a variety of ways, transforming them using her Nova Pulse, Nebula, and Gravity Well skills.
- The agent's C ability is called Gravity Well. Upon activation, the stars gather players in the area are pulled toward the center before it explodes, making all players still trapped inside vulnerable.
- Her Q ability is Nova Pulse and it allows her to concuss enemies. The concussion affects the agents much like Breach's Fault Line. This ability is valuable for breaking open sites and securing areas.
- Astra also has classic smokes as her E ability, Nebula, which allows her to fulfill the most basic task of a controller. The purple smokes can be activated using a star, blocking the enemy's line of sight. Just like Viper's Poison Cloud, Astra's smoke is also reusable, and can be re-deployed after a delay.
- Her ultimate, Cosmic Divide, makes her extremely destructive in competitive games. When her Cosmic Divide is charged, it can block bullets and heavily dampen audio, allowing you to stay safe in post-plant situations.
Astra looks to be a viable threat in competitive games. The controller agent can play crucial support to aggressive duelists, thanks to her versatile kit. Her reusable stars have tons of potential, and she may be able to unseat Omen as the definitive best controller agent in the game.
