HellRaisers to bench DeadFox after IEM Katowice Major
HellRaisers has reportedly benched Bence “DeadFox” Borocz after a disappointing run at the IEM Katowice Major.
Even though HellRaisers secured Legends status after the FACEIT London Major, the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team couldn’t maintain its momentum in the tournament. HellRaisers finished 12th in the New Legends Stage, ending with a 1-3 record. DeadFox averaged only a .77 rating through the major.
The Hungarian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro is the longest-standing member of the current HellRaisers squad, having been signed in the fall of 2016. Throughout his time on the roster, the organization has had mixed results in tournament play, with first-place finishes often followed by poor results elsewhere.
DeadFox’s benching comes after news that HellRaisers’ Ozgur “woxic” Eker is being considered for a transfer to mousesports, who are looking to make big changes after failing to qualify for the major in Katowice. Should woxic leave, it would leave HellRaisers with two open spots, with only Kirill “ANGE1” Karasiow, Abay “Hobbit” Khasenov, and Issa “ISSAA” Murad returning.
A few days after the team was eliminated, HellRaisers uploaded a YouTube video in which their players responded to mean comments the team received on social media after the major. The organization stated that it was a way to show how “fans support the team before and after tournaments.”
One Twitter comment read: “FUCK YOU HELLRAISERS GO DIE IN REAL LIFE! HOW THE FUCK YOU LOSE TO FUCKING OPTIC LIKE THAT! PLEASE DISBAND OR JUST KILL YOURSELF!”
Another said: “BUDGET STYKO XDDDDDDDDD.”
“That’s so funny bro,” DeadFox said in response. “I can’t stop laughing. Whew. You made my day.”
Given this latest news, DeadFox might now be laughing a bit less.
