“Glitchpop is back, but this time with good guns.”

Valorant developers went on the popular YouTube channel HITSCAN to discuss the game’s newest skin line with RyanCentral and Mysca. Glitchpop 2.0 is a continuation of an earlier weapon skin line, but this time with all-new weapon skins. This includes skins for the Vandal, Phantom, Operator, and other popular and powerful weapons.

According to the developers, the initial Glitchpop line focused on creating rhythm and a beat for firing cadence. This excluded a lot of automatic weapons. But developers realized this “alienated three of the top-tier weapons.” Glitchpop 2.0 is a chance for players to enjoy this popular skin line with more popularly purchased weapons.

Even before the first Glitchpop line came out a year ago, developers were already aware that they would make more Glitchpop skins because they knew the weapon skins were not for popular weapons. Just as was expected, Valorant fans said the weapon skins “sucked,” but developers stayed silent about their plan to create even more Glitchop weapons in an upcoming bundle.

“Oh just you wait,” one developer joked.

The Riot developers also admitted they were calling the skin line Glitchpop 1.1 internally since it’s the “same Glitchpop that people loved in the first release but now with more weapons.” Glitchpop 2.0, as fans know it as, also includes new buddies, sprays, and cards.

Glitchpop 2.0 weapon skin bundle now available in Valorant

Glitchpop weapon skins will be available to purchase within the in-game store or by leveling up Valorant’s Battle Pass. The bundle will be available on the market every other week, featuring five new weapon skins for some of the most popular guns in the game.

The Glitchpop 2.0 Bundle is priced at 8,700 VP, which isn’t cheap by any means. But here is what the bundle will get players:

  • Glitchpop Vandal
  • Glitchpop Phantom
  • Glitchpop Operator
  • Glitchpop Classic
  • Glitchpop Axe

In the video above, developers showed off an upgrade to the Glitchpop Axe that includes an out-of-this-world equip animation. Each side of the blade is a different color every time, appearing like a neon switchblade.

“We followed the same style for these, but the animations are a lot clearer this time. At level 3, you’ll feel a significant difference with the animation. The audio is really, really good. Specifically the Vandal,” one developer noted.

Glitchpop 2.0

Valorant players have already started discussing just how much of a “smart investment” the bundle is, since it includes the game’s most-used weapons. While it’s definitely an exciting release for many players, others noted that the weapons still don’t make the high price tag justifiable.

As the debate rages on within the Valorant community, there’s still no denying that Glitchpop 2.0 is an addition to the game that most players appreciate.
