Device registers a historic Deagle clutch in BLAST Premier Final
Nicolai "device" Reedtz is generally known for his daring AWP plays. However, his recent showing at BLAST Premier Global Final proves that he can clutch a win with any weapon he's handed.
Unbeatable throughout the BLAST Premier Global Final, Astralis locked horns with Team Vitality in the upper bracket finals. While fans had expected a tight-knit fight, device's Deagle clutch was extraordinary.
After consecutive round losses, Astralis was dealing with a weak bank. Just one round away from moving to the decider map, the Danes settled for pistols and SMGs. A sloppy push from Astralis showed the quintet had already given up on Overpass, gearing up to beat the Frenchmen in the third map inferno. However, device still had some fight left in him.
While his teammates died in early pushes, device scouted for enemies towards B site with Deagle and some utility in his bag. Dan "apEX" Madesclaire was first to spot a solo device towards the Terrorist base. The French successfully scarred device down to 50 HP, increasing Vitality's chance to win this easily doable round. At this point, it seemed that all hope for Astralis was lost.
Dodging apEX's spam, device turned the tables in a matter of seconds. Astralis' ace aimer punished apEX in a crisp one tap. The Dane shut down Cédric "RpK" Guipouy's effort to trade his teammate, rendering a similar treatment. Vitality was down to two rifles, facing device's Deagle. Both Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier and Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut fell at device's claws, as the Dane shut them down in an incredible collateral shot with his Deagle.
Astralis beat Vitality for a spot in BLAST Premier Grand Final
This is not the first time device has emerged as the star player in a match. The player has a history of clutching a game in challenging situations. His aces, consistency, high fragging, and versatility prove that there's a sufficient reason why he's remained to be one of the best players in the world.
With a rating of 1.20, device has managed to uphold a stable performance across different tournaments, earning him the title of "Mr Consistent." Despite being a dedicated AWPer, device has proved time and again, that he's just a great aimer. This historic clutch in Overpass testifies for his versatility with weapons.
Astralis lost that map with a close 10-15 fight but managed to beat Vitality out of the upper bracket in a 2-1 fashion.
