Former Team Liquid star Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken is gearing up for the next chapter in his Counter-Strike: Global career. Reports suggest that the player is in negotiations to join Marcelo “coldzera” David on FaZe Clan.

The Canadian player has been out of the spotlight for quite a while now. However, a report by DBLTAP claims that he may be coming back to the servers in a FaZe Clan jersey. According to the report, the discussions are already underway between the support player and the organization.

Twistzz emerged as one of the top players in CSGO after joining Team Liquid in 2017. After polishing his skills in Team SoloMid in 2016, Twistzz had the look of one of the best individual talents in the game. The youngster joined Team Liquid and helped establish the organization as one of CSGO’s best, becoming a top-10 team within a year of his signing.

The Canadian developed his unique playstyle during his four-year-long stint with the organization. He was widely regarded as the team’s top star during a run that including first-place finishes in ESL One: Cologne 2019 and ESL Pro League Season 9. However, a recent slump in the team’s performance saw him resign from the team and express his desire to join a European team.

While Team Liquid was quick to replace their star rifler with Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, Twistzz was still on the lookout for a new team. FaZe Clan makes sense as a possible destination, as the organization has made a habit of signing big-name free agents in blockbuster deals. Regardless, the deal is far from signed and FaZe is flush with options at the moment.

Could karrigan be joining FaZe Clan?

Nikola “NiKo” Kovač’s move to G2 Esports has left FaZe without an in-game leader and a dedicated fifth player. Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer has been on an extended hiatus but was forced back into action by NiKo’s departure. Meanwhile, coldzera’s lack of interest in the in-game leader role has seen the team struggle. Though Twistzz would certainly be a boon for any CSGO team, he’s not the only player FaZe has been eyeballing.

mousesports has confirmed that Finn “karrigan” Andersen is considering his options before renewing his contract. Other sources claim that his hesitancy to re-sign could be attributed to FaZe’s offer to rejoin as IGL. karrigan led FaZe from 2016 to 2018, most notably leading the team to the finals of the ELEAGUE Boston Major.

It’s a perfect time for FaZe to mend its declining roster as the free agent market is currently loaded with skilled players, with some making their own rosters. With tons of experience and trophies under his belt, Twistzz could be the savior that FaZe Clan is looking for. But even if he joined, the team would still lack a leader. It seems that FaZe may have to make some space for karrigan in its current roster.
