One of the newest South Korean additions to the Chinese LPL Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong has gotten off to a perfect start with his new team LNG Esports.

LNG ends its first week of the 2021 LPL Spring Split with a 2-0 score at the top of the leaderboard. In a busy and eventful week, LNG managed to take down both the former world champions from Invictus Gaming followed up by a win against TT Gaming. Both series were led by Tarzan who has had a great start since coming back from his break as a professional player.

Tarzan played his first game with LNG at the Demacia Cup 2020 back in December and has since then played nine official matches for the team. While the Demacia Cup didn’t go well for the team, Tarzan and the rest of the squad have upped the level of play since then.

Starting out by taking down iG wasn’t only a big upset but also a well-deserved win that showcased how good LNG can actually be. Tarzan especially was popping off in that series, only dying a single time in the two games it lasted. His first game was flawless on Pantheon, followed up by a great performance on Olaf with a 5/1/7 scoreline.

LNG’s momentum carried on to the next match, which was against TT. LNG was the obvious favorite to take the series, and even though they did win, it was harder than expected. LNG won the series 2-1 but had some struggles in all of the games. An explanation could be that LNG prefers to be the underdogs, which might set up fans for a lot more upsets in the future.

Heading into week three of the LPL, LNG is fighting at the top of the scoreboard together with Team WE, RNG, and EDward Gaming. All four teams will be fighting to stay on the top during week three.

LNG will play its next match on January 24 against Team WE who is currently looking on fire.

What happened to Tarzan LoL?

Tarzan was one of the most hyped players back in 2018 when he entered the LCK together with Griffin. After playing with Griffin for a total of three years, Tarzan ended up leaving the team in May 2020.

Most fans were expecting Tarzan to find another team within no time, but the talented jungler ended up taking a break from competitive play for the 2020 summer split. After over six months away from the stage, Tarzan officially joined LPL’s LNG Esports in December 2020 and will from now on compete in China.

What is the LNG Esports LPL roster?

LNG made a lot of changes to its roster for the 2021 season after a lackluster year in 2020. With the newly formed roster, LNG is looking to be a true playoffs contender in 2021 despite the tough competition.
