The LCS co-streaming program is back for the 2021 season

Co-streaming of all LCS and Academy broadcasts will return for the 2021 season. 

Just like last year, Riot will be allowing all LCS and Academy teams, as well as members of the NA League Partner Program and Oceanic League Partner Program to co-stream the official broadcast. Last year, the LCS generated a lot of new viewers through the co-streams and Riot is looking to continue that success in the 2021 season. 

In a recent statement, Riot explains that all eligible content creators and teams will have the chance to be a direct part of the official LCS and Academy broadcast. To do this, the streamers will have to follow some very specific rules such as co-streaming on the right platforms, in the right language, and with the right guests. 

“The co-streaming program is still available to a select group of creators,” Riot Games said. “Members of the NA League Partner Program, Oceanic League Partner Program, and LCS/Academy teams.” 

If every requirement is met, content creators will once again be able to draw their community into the LCS and Academy leagues to create even more awareness. Last year, several big streamers pulled in as many as 20,000 viewers on a regular LCS broadcasting day, and the co-streaming program ended up being a huge success. 

The 2021 co-streaming year officially kicked off with the LCS Lock In tournament. The first-ever Lock In was kicked off on January 15 and co-streams pulled off big viewer numbers right off the bat. Most notably is former Team SoloMid bot laner Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, who peaked at over 20,000 viewers in the game between TSM and 100 Thieves. 

The LCK Lock In runs from January 15 to January 31. 

Who will be co-streaming LCS in 2021?

A lot of big League of Legends content creators will likely co-stream the LCS. In 2020, Nick “LS” Cesare and Christian “IWillDominate” Rivera were consistently co-streaming the broadcasts and managed to pull in a lot of viewers. Former Cloud9 bot laner Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi also pitched in through the season, often accompanied by former teammate William “Meteos” Hartman. 

For 2021, these content creators will likely continue to co-stream as much as possible, but other names might also join in on the fun. So far, former TSM bot laner Doublelift has also engaged in the co-streaming after retiring as a professional player following the 2020 World Championship.

Which teams play in the LCS 2021?

A total of 10 franchised teams are competing in the LCS, all of them fighting for the domestic trophy as well as tickets to the biggest international LoL events, including the 2021 World Championship and the Mid-Season Invitational.
