G2 Esports’ website crashed minutes after the release of its 2021 pro kit jersey.

On January 15, G2 revealed its 2021 uniform and fans were more than ready to buy them. In the first minutes of the launch, the website crashed, forcing fans to wait in line.

Esports fans anticipate G2 Pro Kit Jersey despite steep price

The new jersey is a collaboration between G2 and its newest sponsor, sports brand Adidas. The jersey is black with dashes of white and red across the chest. It includes the sponsors’ logos on both shoulders. Fans will find a special surprise in the tag, a picture of owner Carlos “Ocelote” Rodríguez. It’s not possible to customize the jersey with a specific nametag.

Each jersey goes for €80, roughly $96 USD, making it one of the most expensive jerseys in esports.

Five hours after the launch, over 100,000 people had visited G2’s site. It’s unclear how units the team sold during this time, but those numbers solidify G2 as one of the most popular esports brands in the world. Better known by its League of Legends and CSGO team, G2 has squads competing in almost every title with a competitive scene.

2021 is set to be yet another successful team for G2. Weeks ahead of the start of the 2021 LEC Spring Split, G2 is already the favorite to take the title. During the offseason, the team signed Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, one of the biggest roster moves of the year. With Rekkles on its ranks, G2 should feel comfortable enough to take on a new season.

G2 will debut its new jerseys on January 22 when it will face MAD Lions on the opening game of the split.
