Riot Games announces esports circuits for TFT, Wild Rift, and LoR
Riot Games announced its plan to launch a global competitive scene for League of Legends: Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra.
To celebrate the official start of Season 11, Riot hosted a broadcast where members of the team shared what’s to come in 2021. On the esports side, Riot shared part of its plans to invest more in the competitive scene for its three spin-off games.
Wild Rift, the mobile version of League of Legends will have a competitive scene. The game is still in open beta and is yet to be released in the Americas. According to the Wild Rift team, the game will become available next March. Riot didn’t share more at the moment, but it would be the first incursion into mobile competitions by the developer.
Teamfight Tactics has become more than a mini-game in League of Legends. The game has now a life of its own and soon will have a competitive circuit to match. During TFT: Galaxies, Riot hosted a global championship and it’s planning to do the same with every set moving forward. TFT: Fates will have a global championship and regional competitions. Riot is putting cash into prize pools for the regional qualifiers and TFT esports as a whole whole. There’s still a chance to compete in the North American qualifier, so hopefuls looking for more information can check here.
Last but not least is Legends of Runeterra, Riot’s card game. In 2021, players will get the chance to compete for cash prizes. Everything will happen in-game, where players can climb the ladder and take part in regional events.
Clash returns to LoL in 2021
As for League of Legends, players will get a chance to compete in Clash tournaments throughout 2021. Riot announced that some Clash tournaments would be held during the week, to give every player a chance to participate. The system has improved so teams can find free agents easily. The next Clash tournament is taking place on January 16.
Is LoL Wild Rift Available?
Wild Rift’s open beta is currently available across Asia, Oceania, and Europe. The game is yet to be released in the Americas. Wild Rift will be available in North America in March 2021.
Why is LoL Wild Rift not available in America?
Due to the ongoing global situation, Riot Games hasn’t been able to put the Wild Rift servers in place. According to the developer, the game will be arriving in North and South America in March.
