The start date for LoL ranked Season 11 is set

League of Legends Season 11 is about to start and it brings some major changes to the Summoner’s Rift.

It’s a new year and a new League of Legends season. Patch 11.1, the first of the year is hitting the live server on January 6. After that, players will have a little more time to familiarize themselves with changes before the start of the ranked season.

What is the League of Legends season 11 start date?

League of Legends Season 11 starts on January 8. Riot Games announced it would be hosting a broadcast to celebrate the start of ranked Season 11. The exact content of the broadcast is unclear.

On January 8, all ranks reset and players can start to climb again. Not all players will start from Iron, as those that reached higher ranks will get provisional position based on their final Season 10 rank. The rank resets do not apply to Teamfight Tactics, as this game mode has its own schedule.

What is the biggest change coming to Season 11?

Like every previous season, Riot introduced major changes ahead of the new year. In Season 11, the biggest change is the item shop. All items in the game got a rework and the shop introduced Mythic items. These are unique items designed for each specific role.

The shop now suggests which items work better for the player's champion based on the opposing team's champions. But the system is still not fool-proof, and it might be best to go against the suggestions at times.

Is LoL Season 10 over?

League of Legends Season 10 finished on November 10, 2020. Season 11 starts on January 8, 2021.
