Fortnite superstar Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf re-signed with Sentinels earlier this week.

Bugha tweeted a video of himself singing the contract. Sentinel replied, “Once a Sentinel, always a Sentinel.” Fellow Fortnite content creator Soleil “Ewok” Wheeler sent an enthusiastic, “Let’s go!”

The two-year contract was a great way for the 18-year-old Fortnite pro to celebrate his birthday. Of course, it was most likely not a big surprise to Bugha, who won $3 million when he came out victorious at the 2019 Fortnite World Cup. This victory saw Bugha labeled one of the top Fortnite players in the world, and his play since has largely justified that title.

“Our World Champion is staying home,” Sentinels tweeted in celebration of Bugha’s milestone birthday.

Bugha was previously competing for No Clout when he signed with Sentinels in the spring of 2019. He later competed in Epic Games’ first major Fortnite esport event, the World Cup. The win had Bugha appearing on late-night talk shows, bringing Fortnite esports into mainstream culture.

Bugha continued to compete in smaller Fortnite tournaments after the life-changing win. This added even more money to his net worth and solidified him as a top-tier Fortnite player in the scene. He started offering branded gaming accessories and providing lessons through a partnership with AdvancedClub.

Earlier this month, Epic Games announced that there would not be any in-person events or tournaments, including the World Cup, in 2021. While this is unfortunate for Bugha and other Fortnite competitors, it probably comes as no surprise. Epic has been slow to support the battle royale’s esports scene after investing heavily into it in 2019.

How old is Bugha?

As of December 30th, the young Fortnite pro has turned 18 years old. He was only 16 years old when he won the Fortnite World Cup in 2019.

Is Bugha good at Fortnite?

After winning the World Cup in 2019, Bugha was crowned the top Fortnite player in the world. Of course, there are other highly skilled Fortnite players that can definitely compete with him. Bugha continues to place in the top 10 in every Fortnite tournament he enters, including a recent first-place finish at the Fortnite Champion Series: Chapter 2 Season 4 Heat 1 – NA-East

What does Bugha mean?

Bugha got his pecular gamertag from his grandmother. That was his nickname growing up. To find out more about Bugha and how he balances competing and school, check out everything you need to know about the star Fortnite player.
