T1 Gumayusi showcase crazy mechanics on Kai’Sa in solo queue
In the solo queue game, the T1 bot laner was doing everything in his power to carry his team on Kai’Sa. To seal the deal, Gumayusi pulled off an impressive team-fight performance in the bot lane, where his opponents were outplayed in several different ways.
Even though Gumayusi entered the fight with 10 kills, there were plenty of opportunities for his opponents to take him down. Sadly for the opposing team, Gumayusi played the fight near to perfection and ended up getting a total of three kills.
Gumayusi started out the fight by being engaged on by the enemy Galio, who unleashed a combo that instantly put Gumayusi down to 50% HP. As many marksmen have experienced before, Gumayusi had to play it safe from the back line to avoid being killed.
After his whole team got wiped, Gumayusi found his entry point and began his 1v3 attempt. He started out by bursting down Galio before kiting both Ornn and Akali around perfectly. During the few seconds the fight lasted, Gumayusi managed to dodge Ornn with his Killer Instinct (R) followed by flashing Akali’s Shuriken Flip (E), which would have been lethal.
While this was just an outplay in solo queue, Gumayusi once again shows why he is considered such a great talent. Playing on T1 as a substitute is no easy task and the 18-year-old bot laner still has a lot of potential to grow. The 2021 season could very well be the year where Gumayusi gets a real chance in the LCK.
The 2021 LCK season kicks off in January.
Who is Gumayusi?
Gumayusi is an 18-year-old bot laner from South Korea. Gumayusi currently plays for T1 and has since December 2018 when he was picked up as a trainee. Gumayusi got his LCK debut in 2020, where he was able to play seven games in the 2020 LCK Regional Finals. Sadly, Gumayusi and T1 didn’t make it through the regional finals and thus missed out on the 2020 World Championship. Gumayusi will continue to play for T1 in the 2021 season, but it’s unknown how much playing time he will get.
What is the 2021 T1 LCK lineup?
Even though T1 didn’t make it to Worlds in 2020, the organization hasn’t swapped out many of its players. There have been quite a few changes in the coaching staff, but only the support position has been touched on the active roster. Instead of changing players, T1 has picked up a few young potential stars that might get their chance on stage in the upcoming year.
The 2021 T1 LCK lineup is:
- Top - Kim “Canna” Chang-dong / Choi “Zeus” Woo-je
- Jungle - Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan / Choi “Ellim” El-lim / Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon
- Mid - Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok / Lee “Clozer” Ju-hyeon
- Bot - Park “Teddy” Jin-seong / Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong
- Support - Ryu “Keria” Min-seok
What lane is Kai’Sa?
Kai’Sa is a marksman and is therefore best suited for the bot lane position. She is a high-damage and mobile marksman, with a kit that is suited for carrying and assassinating squishy opponents. Kai’Sa is a marksman with fairly short range, which means that she can easily get caught if not played correctly. There have been a few instances where Kai’Sa has been played in the mid lane, but it isn’t a role where she is consistently viable.
Is Kai’Sa good?
Kai’Sa has almost always been a viable pick in the bot lane since her release in March 2018. As of patch 10.25, Kai’Sa is sitting at a 51.74% win rate and is considered an S-tier pick in the bot lane. Her adjustments in the 2021 preseason have gone well and players are especially succeeding with the new Kraken Slayer Mythic item, combined with the Hail of Blades rune.
