Varus has been in a bad state for several patches. But former RNG bot laner Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao recently made him look strong through a crazy outplay.

After his retirement earlier this year, Uzi has been streaming regularly and showing that he still has what it takes to be one of the best in his position. The latest viral outplay was done on Varus, who is currently the worst marksman in the game according to win rates.

In the clip, Uzi is pushing the enemy mid-lane Inhibitor turret before getting attacked by the enemy Pantheon and Orianna. Two burst-heavy champions jumping on a Varus usually means instant death, but not when your name is Uzi. The Chinese bot laner instantly used Cleanse and then the kite began.

Not only did Uzi survive the attack, but he also managed to dodge most damage from Orianna while chunking Pantheon with spells and auto-attacks. He followed it up by barely getting the last auto attacks off on both targets to secure the double kill.

Outplays like these are usually done by players who are very far ahead of the opponent, but that wasn’t the case here. Uzi and his team were winning the game, but the legendary bot laner had a 9/8/10 scoreline and only 219 CS after 26 minutes. The stats indicate a very chaotic game and not the usual stomp where plays like these are made.

Uzi utilized his incredible movement and reaction times in the outplay, something that he has been known for when he played professionally. Uzi even used the new Mythic item Galeforce, to help him dash towards Orianna to complete the play.

Uzi will likely continue to stream regularly, with a slight chance that he returns to professional play one day.

Is Uzi retired in LoL?

Uzi retired as a professional League of Legends player in May 2020, after almost eight years as a pro. The legendary bot laner retired earlier than expected because of health issues, even though he was still considered one of the best bot laners in the world.

What team was Uzi on in 2020?

Uzi ended his career on RNG, which is an organization he has been playing for since May 2016. Uzi has been the face of RNG for many years and the absolute star player of the team. RNG has used both Lu “Betty” Yu-Hung and Chen “GALA” Wei as replacements for Uzi since his retirement.

Will Uzi return in 2021?

Even though Uzi is officially retired, there is still a chance that he will return to a professional team at some point. Uzi addressed back in October that he might return depending on his health condition. At the time, Uzi was already seeing improvements in his health which means that there might be hope. Fans likely won’t see Uzi back on Summoner’s Rift in the near future though.
