Just Error reportedly disbands, SumaiL once again a free agent
Dota 2’s Syed “SumaiL” Hassan is teamless once again.
According to Ukrainian caster Vitalii Nikolaevich "v1lat" Volochai, Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev has confirmed that Just Error is no more. The team’s roster was made up of the following players:
- Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev
- Syed “SumaiL” Hassan
- Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko
- Bakyt "Zayac" Emilzhanov
- Alexey "Solo" Berezin
The disbandment comes after an underwhelming performance at EPIC League. The team controversially earned a spot in the EPIC League’s upper division with a strange debut in the qualifiers. This was followed by an 8-15 record in group play, which saw the team forced into the play-ins just to remain in the upper division.
The team was dealt a loss by Yellow Submarine, forcing the team into the playoffs of EPIC League’s lower division. This was followed by Just Error subbing out SumaiL in favor of Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok. The team lost both of its series in the lower division playoffs, going 0-2 against Live to Win in the upper bracket before being eliminated by Alliance with another 0-2 loss.
EPIC League was Just Error’s only performance and the disbandment follows former Virtus.pro CEO Roman Dvoryankin telling Cyber.Sports.ru that “a large and successful European organization made a worthy offer” to the team regarding a sponsorship. The initial plan for Just Error was meant to be to take the same approach as Team Nigma or Team Secret and use the squad’s previous Dota 2 success to establish a multi-game organization of its own.
Who is SumaiL playing for now?
With Just Error’s disbandment, SumaiL once again finds himself on the free agent market. Despite being one of Dota 2’s top names, SumaiL has been struggling to find a steady home of late.
He was deactivated by Evil Geniuses following The International 2019 and left in limbo for months, with the exception of a one-off qualifiers appearance with Quincy Crew. He was eventually transferred to OG, but travel restrictions saw his time with the team become a waste. OG was forced to use a number of substitutes in smaller online leagues before kicking SumaiL due to issues in bringing him into planned bootcamps.
Just Error was his latest high-profile landing spot, but issues were immediately raised regarding SumaiL’s presence on the team. Questions over whether he could live together with a CIS-based team came alongside other questions about how the team would communicate in-game with one player unable to speak Russian. The substitution of Resolut1on over SumaiL suggested that there were underlying issues with the team, and this now seems to have been confirmed.
